"Torvtak" is a common sight in Norway!

This picture gives a clear description of a typical Norwegian style, back in the days. Even today, there are still some people who choose to use "Torvtak" on their roof... 

This have been used for hundreds of years in Norway to keep their home warm in the winter season. Apparently it was a great camouflage from air under the second world war too...
