Optimize your About Page

When I first meet someone on Google Plus – usually through an HOA – I take a quick perusal of the About tab on their G+ profile. While HOAs are a great way to get to know someone, it's amazing what you can learn about a person by reading their "Story."

On the About tab the Story section can include a tagline, introduction and bragging rights. The recorded HOA below is a discussion mostly about the Story. (See time stamps.)

Sandra Watson, a member of the IRL #SMGDenver  Meetup group, ran this HOA – The About Page...May be?!?! – last week. It wasn't a "how to" session but rather an in-depth discussion about "why" your Google Plus profile includes an About page.

With Dennis Duce and their guest (the lovely) Craig Fifield,  the lively discussion hit on some points you can use to make your About page work well for you.  While they focused on the Story component, I'm looking forward to the possibility of another discussion like this about the Links component.
