Success is a result of getting your priorities in order

I wish someone had told me this years ago. We are given this vague idea of what it means to be "successful" growing up - bills paid, nice house, nice car, frequent travel, social influence...etc.

Those things are fine and dandy - but if you really want to see any of that happen, especially if you're marching to the beat of a different drum and deciding to do your own thing instead of just taking orders all day - you've got one major thing to deal with - and that's you!

Not having someone to tell me what to do to advance my business the next step is one of the hardest and yet most rewarding aspects of running my own business.

That means that I can work in my gym shorts, when I want, and how I want.

It also means that if I'm not careful, I can spend almost all of my time obsessing about things that don't, as Brendon Burchard puts it, "move the needle".

A few months back, a friend of mine who specializes in business and life coaching spend several weeks working with me on establishing some very important things - the #1 of which was nailing down what makes me tick - my core values, etc.

If you don't have those to guide you when you decide to chart the open waters of entrepreneurship, you're going to have a bad time.

Beyond that, figuring out what your priorities are - the things that you REALLY truly want to accomplish - and organizing them accordingly - is what will bring you the kind of 'success' that you're most likely pursuing.

We live in an age when we are constantly being bombarded with information - and most of us accept it willingly! And then people wonder why they're not feeling creative and just want to sit in front of the TV or watch 17 hours of Netflix in a row?

If you're reading this and you want to make a positive difference in the world around you, great!

You've got to start with you.

Turn off the push notifications on your phone. Work on your own projects when you first wake up in the morning - BEFORE you check your e-mail or social media.

You'll be surprised how much you accomplish while everyone else is just "checking in".

  1. All your power is within you so your own power is right there and in your control. You have been attracted to your own interest because you have something to offer yourself. In time the difficulties of producing your own future will pass and your source will become unlimited. Your acts of service to all you support are known and shall in time be rewarded.
