You can learn how to relax very quickly by refocusing your attention away from a stressful thought Perhaps you have one now. See if you do. Then stare right in the middle of the graphic below. You'll notice that it grabs your attention.  As you keep staring you'll find that you're engaged and have shifted away from that stressful thought. Keep staring at that spot and before you know it, several minutes might go by. If this happens, you'll probably not remember what that stressful thought was.

Then you'll know you've been in a light state of Hypnosis. You're actually in and out of this state at different times throughout the day. It's natural for all of us. It's a kind of trance state when you forget where you are for a moment - like going past your destination stop while driving your car - or spending too much time surfing the internet. 

Now you know that you can change your mood quickly and relax your Mind. You can do this on your own whenever obsessive thoughts are bugging you. Just close your eyes, fire up your imagination and focus your attention on something pleasurable - preferably with movement like the memory of a great tennis or golf shot,  a terrific football play or even petting your dog.

  1. Well, I've studied and used self-hypnosis to great benefit. Thanks for sharing Zara Altair. As a side note, I'm sure my wife would like to hypnotize me sometimes... :)
