Google is Getting into the Satellite Internet Game
To the tune of around $1 billion, Google plans to launch 180 small satellites with the intention of providing Internet to out of the way places. This, in conjunction with project Loon and a new Internet drone project, is Google's initiative to bring the web to hundreds of millions more people in the coming years.

The article talks about the speeds being, "gigabit per second data rates" Mark Davenport, so probably faster than what you're now getting :)
