Humanisation

I love this time of the year as people really start to shift up the gears. Has its drawbacks too but there’s always room for more coffee and matchsticks for the eyelids!

In the introduction to this week’s The Mia Connect Power Chat (http://goo.gl/pbVCYl) Mia Voss warned that the Internet might break as she invited Joel Comm and the freshly shaven Ted Rubin to the show. I can see why the warning was issued as this was a blisteringly entertaining show. I do believe it was the first time that Mia has been shushed on the show too! Some three-way #bromance in the middle section as Bryan Kramer joined the fray. Way too much irreverent fun and strong ideas in this episode for me to list but as ever Mia has put together the #BatCrapCrazy #timestamp post here (http://goo.gl/bvf2K5). I’m off to look for Ron R!

There was a unique opportunity to Meet the School of Rock Team (http://goo.gl/QEOgSR) this week and a fascinating insight into the small team behind the innovative, performance-based music education programme. Stick with it through some minor tech problems at the beginning. Alexandra Riecke-Gonzales and co-host Christine DeGraff deftly handle the flow and comment wrangling (as usual). Good to hear this programme is going strong and expanding through franchising. Take a look if you are in any way musical - it may just be your next journey.

Good to have the master of the firehose session Jason T. Wiser back with #OnTrackTips. In Other Employed to Bootstrapping: An Entrepreneur’s Journey (http://goo.gl/Hllsaa) Denise Wakeman joins Jason for some good advice for those who are self-employed, or are thinking about it. There’s a strong emphasis on the next steps after you reach saturation point with your own time. These 30 minutes just fly by!

Ben Fisher joined Christine DeGraff as co-host for this week’s TNT Bootcamp (http://goo.gl/tflMuU) as the tables were turned on usual co-host Ronnie Bincer. We all know and love Ronnie for both his expertise and his helpfulness here on Google+ in relation to Hangouts on Air and building an audience. I’ve always enjoyed engaging with Peter and reading his comments over the last year so I was particularly keen to listen to this. I’m very interested in seeing Peter’s app on wider release. Being or becoming social is something that can cause a big headache for businesses of all sizes. These headaches are addressed in the first Social Media Today Power Talk of the year: Does Social Business Make Sense? (http://goo.gl/WK0Eik) David Amerland returns as our knowledgeable host with new co-host Alexandra Riecke-Gonzales in a new format benefitting from the fantastic production of John Ellis from SEOWiSE. Gideon Rosenblatt takes the hot seat for this seemingly simple idea that is inherently complex and difficult to achieve in the real world. A great discussion stemming from Gideon’s The Soulful Company TED Talk. I perhaps should put this one in Thinker’s Corner as it seems to have created many rabbit holes in my mind!

I make no apologies for including The PYB Show! - The (Google) Plus Factor: National Events + Local Businesses (http://goo.gl/K6Kgnl) for the third week in a row as there is a wealth of takeaways applicable to many businesses. After a brief update on the PYB Academy from martin shervington the PYB crew of Stan Bush, Travis Taylor, Karen V Chin and Debi Davis open the floor to guest experts Lany Sullivan looking at experiential marketing and Mike Blumenthal looking at Google My Business and local search in relation to a larger digital strategy. Fantastic value - this is really the knowledge font of the moment. Make sure you fill your flask!

Drawing on an article in Forbes Imran gives his own view of the negativity that can often get the better of us and impact on those around us. I just love the subtle call to +1 as he turns it around in the second half. You know what? I did!

What is the point of writing, if not to say we all are wired uniquely, thinking differently?  It is magical when humanity can accept that. It’s thoughts like this that I relish from todd l lebeauc.
