The phrase cannot live without reminds me of must have fashion ads.

Life is real. Air to breathe. Water to drink. Food to eat. Shelter. Heat in the cold. 
Luxuries: hot and cold running water, any kitchen or cleaning appliance, a motor vehicle, or even a bicycle.

The United States ranks near the bottom of the pack of wealthy nations on a measure of child poverty, according to a new report from UNICEF. Nearly one third of U.S. children live in households with an income below 60 percent of the national median income in 2008 - about $31,000 annually. Washington Post goo.gl/5QrWye

Child poverty in America is at its highest point in 20 years, putting millions of children at increased risk of injuries, infant mortality, and premature death, according to a policy analysis published Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics.
As the U.S. emerges from the worst recession since the Great Depression, 25% of children don’t have enough food to eat and 7 million kids still don’t have health insurance, the analysis says.
