Eric Enge on Lessons for Entrepreneurs
_Get yourself (and your partners, if any) in a situation where you can be patient, especially about income. A startup is not a get rich quick scheme.
Be crystal clear about what you really know well, what you are genuinely an expert about. Focus your business around that.
Very early on, pick out focal target customers or clients. Go all out to win at least one of them. They become your "proof point" to others.
Be opportunistic. Whatever you planned, no matter how carefully, won't be the way it actually works out.
Fail fast. Be willing to jump in and experiment, knowing that most experiments will fail, but will yield you invaluable information that will lead to your eventual success._
