Video for Search Recognition
Day 23 #28daysofseo

After Google, YouTube is the second largest search engine. And just as you plan your SEO strategy with written and visual content, you can plan effective YouTube tactics to increase your web presence.

The visual element of videos create effective brand marketing because it is easy for visitors to readily absorb your content, even on the fly. When visitors engage with comments, brand sentiment is recognised by search.

Search gets them to your video. You add the human element of a person by responding to each comment.

Interaction and connectivity matter.

Search recognises four types of visitors:

  1. Direction - where did the visitor come from? Was it from a domain that is relevant to your business?
  2. Temporary or Persistent - did the connection happen by chance, or deliberate design? Was it significant because it contributed a real connection?
  3. Transivity - are there shared friends and interests that link the commenter to the video creator? And, are they highly connected or a new connection?
  4. Priority - did the connection result in a response? Or, was it ignored.

Just as on your website or posts on Google+ the key is engagement and connectivity.

The same reasoning works on how you think about constructing your video to reveal you, your brand, and your product or services.
