Life - so precious, so fragile, so full of promise, so easily lost. Transformation. Our first transformation is birth, and our last physical transformation is death.
"The most destructive earthquake in 80 years struck Nepal yesterday, April 25th, killing 2,000 people and more, with the death toll rising as relief and medical missions are dispatched."
-- Ron Scroggin http://goo.gl/Ta8rps
The preciousness of life is intimately interwoven with transformation. Our innate, essential character and our evolutionary purpose, is brought out through transformation. Every last single moment of conscious awareness of the here and now - is a beauty beyond price. We all know this, we all understand what beauty is there, inside ourselves, inside everyone else - and in Gaia.
We have a choice - either we spend around a hundred years on this planet, or we get to be with the planet for a hundred years. Each moment a gift, the quality of each moment hinging on our willingness to give back. And, in order to be able to do so, we are given gifts of transformation.
Is it at all possible to understand any of this in splendid individual isolation? No. Are we given opportunities to help each other figuring these things out? Yes. How? By sharing our stories and by holding space for others, by listening to others, sharing theirs.

"Drennan is grateful, too, for her husband’s openness to the gaze of her camera during such a challenging time. His trust in her is obvious in the pictures; the intimacy of making them together was one of the things that got them both through. Drennan notes that Paul, an artist himself, understood the necessity for her to use photography to come to grips with what they were going through together. “Where words failed us,” she says, 'the pictures filled in the blanks'."
