Thanks to Barbara Starr, we now know about new ranking signals in use at Google based upon a new set of metrics, involving Entities. This triggers a shift towards "ranking" and away from ordering search results. Ranking now means that things that are related to something ranked highly for a query may influence a lot of what is seen in search results. Check out those entity metrics; this is SEO for 2015.
