Understanding Semantic Search

Consider that in the eyes of semantic search, like in our own minds, there is no such thing as a 'keyword', but there is a 'key concept'. Something that is formed independently as a result of inference and may not even be specifically part of what is being indexed.

In my example of words, ideas and concepts associating with each other I have created three super heroes, each taking powers from a secret source, having something in common, with each other and each exhibiting specific powers and a relatively common intent.

Once indexed (in a hypothetical scenario) they would come up for search queries like "the just trio", the 'trio of justice" "superhero team". "team of superheroes" as well as a more specific query such as "invisible being who can fly".

What is of interest here is that with the exception of "invisible being who can fly" none of the other search queries have been specified in my example. They are inferred, logically from the association of words, meanings and concepts.
