Breaking News: Right To Be Forgotten Signed into Law in Russia
President Vladimir Putin signed it into law on July 15, and it will go into effect Jan. 1, 2016.
The Russian version of RTBF is stricter than its European forerunner, although some revisions were made to relax the original bill after protests by search engines (Yandex) and Internet experts alike. For example, search engines now have 10 days, rather than just 3, to comply with an RTBF request.
