How much technical debt have you been accruing?

"Technical debt is the deference of long term outlook for short term results. Because this is so often accrued on a developmental level, the full impacts are not usually realized until the deficit is already significant and ramifications sometimes dire."

Face it, we all make decisions on whether we want something Good, Fast, or Cheap Without acknowledging it, we're sacrificing the long-term quality of our decision for the short-term needs and goals.

But every decision has ramifications. In web development and software development, those ramifications lead to what's called technical debt.

How you plan ahead, and how you mitigate the debt that you're accruing, are necessary to maintain a healthy technical ecosystem for your business.

I'll let David Kutcher answer in a more technical manner.

  4. Richard Wright Sorry for your loss. I read that earlier. Sadness is the correct emotion. Grief is a long, long process.
