New Google Wallet App for Android Launches
There's a new Google Wallet app for Android available in the Google Play Store You can't just wait for the update to this one, though, because it's an entirely different app from the one installed on your device. You'll have to download it separately.
Why? Because before long (probably days at most), as this release further indicates, your default (or previously downloaded) Wallet app will be updated to Android Pay. The new Wallet app simplifies its remaining functions: sending payments to and requesting/receiving payments from other people, and controlling and managing the physical Google Wallet card if you have one. Android Pay will take over all wireless payment transactions in the future, as well as storing all reward cards, etc...
So go download the new app if you plan to keep using Google Wallet, and get ready to be upgraded to the Android Pay experience either way.
