The Perils of Pre-determination or, How I Learned to Stop Stressing My Clients Out!

Somewhere around a decade ago, I was enjoying one of my regular coffee chats with my elderly uncle Wally. He's an exceptional fine artist who has spent 70-plus years painting some of the most incredibly detailed wilderness scenes you'll ever encounter. We generally talked about family, art, business, and people as well.

On one such occasion, I confided in him that my recent visual design presentations were not going so well. That many of my favourite pieces were being rejected and that the ones I considered weaker were getting the green light.

It was quite frustrating.

  1. Zara Altair​ when you say that "First Choice Bump" is like our brain tend to choose based on gut reactions (instinct ? Here a scientific research http://www.nature.com/news/2008/080411/full/news.2008.751.html ) Its reminds me when I play poker ...because I flip my mind every 3 seconds before take a decision, but mostly of the time I endup backing to my first conclusion ... I'm not stressed by multiple choice, but if I were a seller I would try to help the costumer with technics like Pareto Optimization, used by IBM's Watson Tradeoff Analytics ... The most important for me is to show to the clients that you're on their side no matter how hairy the problem is ... :-)
