Seattle Project to Help Voters Fund Political Candidates

Seattle may be about to try a fairly radical experiment in getting money out of politics. We'll know next week whether it passes.
In my view, the two big problems facing our democracy are:
1) Getting money out of politics so that each citizen has equal political standing.
2) Fixing the gerrymandering that creates "safe" districts and prevents real competition between candidates.
I know there are other big problems. But to me, these seem to be the biggest right now.
