I know what it's like to be inundated with advertisements in social. It's why most of my engagement takes place here on the Plus where there are no ads.

However, a recent foray into Instagram to post images from my Craft Beer Randy discoveries led me to a whole new set of advertising interruptions. I'd mentioned a few times in Gplus that I was relatively ad-free over on the #IG, while others proclaimed they couldn't open the app without being feverishly pestered.

I looked a bit close at how ads were being served, how the "IGalgo" feeds ads, and into how I might reduce them.

Today, my feed is pretty much ad-free. Being a sharer by nature, I've created an illustrated guide to avoiding ads on Instagram that I hope you find helpful.
