Refrain from sending emails when you publish a post. Flooding your circles with email is very like spamming.

Hi friends!
Kindly note that whenever you are posting on Google Plus, you should be considerate and avoid using "powerful" features excessively.
I am referring to that "Also send email to Your circles" feature.
The thing is, too many people keep using this feature, and this leads to a lot of posts showing up in other people's email.
And this is no different from spam to be honest.
Ultimately, this could quickly become a burden to some people in your circles, and they could either remove you from their circles or opt to have you muted.
My advice: Only use this feature once in a blue moon, if you have to. Since I started using g+ in 2013, I've only used it twice; and for my smallest circle of connections.
Have a great week!
when I receive email from google+ on my gmail account I set then as spam.... since my Gmail Box has size limit. if I want be "social" I come to my social space here.
ReplyDeleteAgree Zara Altair GM from a wet UK:)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever sent an email when publishing a post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Zara Altair
ReplyDeleteI sent this post because I suddenly realized that a number of people permanently had this email thing checked, and it started annoying me quite a bit.
But I calmed down when I considered that most people probably don't know how these things really work, or they never really think of how others might react to them.
Hence the post: A warning before I start uncircling folks.
Rotimi Orimoloye Yes, one polite, civilized moment of grace and then...uncircle. :) A great reminder. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteZara Altair that's why I'm very tolerant to mistakes, but I agree that at certain moment we going to face a binary choice #tensorflow
