Tested a client 's site today during an audit. Initial load time was 117 seconds. Had 1600 requests. Site was littered with ads. And has at least one resource hog plugin running wild. Getting host overages and shut down notifications so often that it's hard to even run tests. We've got a lot of work to do.
Carl Turechek I'm not sure you fully understand cloud hosting and how the billing structure for services like Amazon's works. Chances are that for most small sites your housing would end up being less on cloud hosting than the $10/month service you're using, while being MUCH faster.
Carl Turechek yes, you should. I did and it's worked out well.
ReplyDeleteCarl Turechek Working this weekend, but that is good. :)

ReplyDeleteCarl Turechek image sprites. And host the images on Google.
ReplyDeleteCarl Turechek I'm sorry, but you can't be worried about speed and then tell me you're hosting on hostgator.
