How Trust Established an Empire

In 1717 the inability of the French king to understand the importance of Trust led to a series of events that made the rise of the British Empire inevitable: http://goo.gl/5LUxVy. They also gave us the first bubble of its time: http://goo.gl/QDnU18 and set France on the road to the French Revolution that would give us the Napoleonic Wars and, tangentially, would sow the seeds of the American Revolution. :)
