Reviews, and how Google is using them
IMO not enough is written about how reviews are being used, displayed, and generated in the many parts of the Googleverse where they are requested and displayed.
Some generate stars, some have key words and phrases parsed out for display based on density, and others (such as the Two Urban Licks description) are entirely created based on the words, phrases, and sentiment found in those reviews.
And sometimes it yields amusing results, as the reviews led the algorithm to believe the Restaurant was a Club (even though it's not) based on reviews mentioning it in response to their live music.
David Amerland and others talk about semantic search. .. here you can see it in practical displays.
