Emotion & Engagement

Emotion & Engagement
Five components of social media engagement from David Amerland.
Key insight:
What emotion really does is it strips bare the usual dressing of thin marketing. It reveals the passion (or lack of) hiding underneath. It shows the people behind the brand at their most vulnerable. It sends a loud, unambiguous message that says: “We are passionate about what we do and we hope you like it”. For a company or a brand to do that it needs to establish real trust amongst its people first, and then trust that the audience that they're addressing will understand and respond.

It's not new news that just putting stuff out there doesn't do much. Review the formula for interaction that get results.

Social Media and the Engagement Equation

Social media without engagement really is like a car without wheels. But  how do you get engagement and how do you make sure it continues to happen? Well the formula is not quite as formulaic as you think but if you get tot he heart of it for yourself you will see a response in your social media platforms.

  1. Zara Altair it feels at times that we've been saying the same things again and again in different ways for the last four years :) At some point the penny will drop.

  2. David Amerland It does feel that way. At times the old saying "I feel like a broken record" comes to mind. :)
