Bite-sized Linzertorte. Butter rich dough with a bit of lemon zest and ground blanched almonds. and black currant jam with a dusting of powdered sugar

As a child, when my parents were busy I often stayed with a woman with the (then) exotic French name of Marguerite. Occasionally she made these cookies which she called "sandwich" cookies. I loved them.
