Links and Search Ranking

Links and Search Ranking

Eric Enge and Mark Traphagen with results of a new Stone Temple Consulting study.

Links, even without correlation, are still an important ranking factor.

As Eric says:

They are really powerful. In fact, in two of our different analyses, we showed a nearly perfect correlation between links and ranking. Keeping in mind that correlation isn’t the same as measuring the actual weight of the ranking factor. But they are still extremely powerful.

  1. Personally I think trying to work on getting one way links of high importance back to your site take way too much time and very hard to get. There are other things to work on and much easier to do with your time than worry about backlinks I would just let it happen naturally, Since Google has dropped PR I don't worry about anything except good strong content on my blog because you never know what they will strip from you next.
