Things I love about Google Plus with Omi Sido (Extended Version)
Google+ is my first social media love. Everything really happened by accident. I remember I was trying to find out how to use Twitter for #business and Google Plus just popped in the SERPS. What I really liked from day one was the community.
It just happened that at the time I was into web development slowly shifting towards digital marketing and Google Plus was the Traffic Cop showing me the right direction. In fact, it was Mr David Amerland whom I met on the platform.
And then Teodora Petkova who gave me a lot of encouragement. And Gina Fiedel who gave me a lot of inspiration.
And Mark Traphagen and Eric Enge who gave me a lot of knowledge. And William Rock who gave me a lot of geekiness.
Or Marilyn Moore who gave me so much understanding of small business. The list really goes on and on and on.
Google plus tough me how to interact with people online and most of all how to make friends online. In terms of knowledge and ideas, I can never be lost anymore.
The other day I had a problem with structured data so I just contacted Aaron Bradley. In less than 10 minutes I had my answer.
Now tell me where else do you get this support and understanding. Or the day I didn’t know whether to apply for a new job or not. Boom. Mr Amerland came to the rescue. This is not something you get on Linkedin.
Trust me on this one.
Here I’ve got, let me check, 1500 friends. On LinkedIn, I’ve got 15 000 followers. On LinkedIn or Twitter people are talking at me.
On Google Plus people are talking to me.
As I said earlier Google Plus is my first social media love and will always be very close to my heart.
