I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.
I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.
I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.

Special thanks to Matt Perez for highlighting this poem for me.

Really nice, huh, Zara Altair. If only...
ReplyDeleteGideon Rosenblatt Yes! A vision of conjunction.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice way to describe it, Zara Altair.
ReplyDeletezara altair je avite sur haughauts Vous parlez avec vous avitation
ReplyDeleteYou're winning me over Gideon Rosenblatt :))
ReplyDeleteRon Serina No need to be won over. Gideon Rosenblatt is a...OK I'm going to say it...thought leader. :)
ReplyDeleteAh shucks, Zara Altair. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd now I know the way to reach Ron Serina -- tech poetry. ;)
Gideon Rosenblatt Tech poetry it is. :)
ReplyDeleteGideon Rosenblatt Zara Altair let's rethink this tech poetry angle ...think of it as one color on a palette, no need to short change the other colors, it's the painting that's important. :)). .
ReplyDeleteThat's well said, Ron Serina. To be serious for a moment, what I loved most about this piece of poetry is that it actually transcends technology itself to talk about the coming back together of artifact and nature, or as Zara Altair puts it: to focus on the conjunction.
ReplyDeleteGideon Rosenblatt Transcendence sums it up. acceptance, no longer new, a part of normal.
