Tech Fail

Tech Fail
#rant
I called the First Tech Federal Credit Union generic number and asked to be connected with the local branch to find out if the sometimes present tech guy was there today.
I could be connected with a specialist after leaving my phone number and the specialist would call me sometime in the next 24 hours!
Now leaving the tech world to drive to the branch to discover if the tech guy is there today. If so I may get help.
A very dissatisfied customer who has supported community and small banks since the mid 1980's is reverting to pre-telephone communication by physically going to the branch.
First Tech Federal Credit Union you have a surprised and disappointed customer.

I feel your customer not serviced pain Zara Altair

ReplyDeleteI did do the early 20th Century pre-telephone thing and went to the bank. My question was answered.
Additionally, I called the "service" number one more time to leave a recorded message about this antiquated customer service interface. This is a financial institution that caters to the tech world. Not just anyone can be a member. An amazing non-tech, non-service experience. :D
Zara Altair Makes you wonder if they ever try their own system
ReplyDeleteRon Serina I believe that is not the case. When I told the person who eventually called back that the telephone answerer who speaks in multiple "Ma'am's" clicked me over to leave my phone number (followed by the pound key) the automatic message says my call wlll be returned within 24 hours, she said she had no idea that was the procedure.
ReplyDeleteZara Altair I listen to my voice message every now and again to make sure it makes relevant sense if I was a customer calling my business... this is not rocket science.
ReplyDeleteRon Serina No, it is not. Amazingly enough, I just received an email from the branch manager inviting me to a telephone conversation on branch service. :)
ReplyDeleteZara Altair That's progress ... through no small effort on your part.
