Notes on Creativity

If you are writing, you are a creative; so most of these notes will be self-evident. If you are just beginning as an artist then these notes impart a wisdom to heed.

Usually, I find articles about "creativity" as self-evident as this one, at best, or worse, self-aggrandizing.

My experience is that creative people do not talk about being "creative." They are creative--Number 1 on this list. Artists talk about their tools, where it is the right pen and which paper you use, or, for writers, which software is most useful and why.

Of course, I love number 3 about the border collie of the mind. As a border collie owner (does one own a fellow creature?) and trainer the example brought a smile. You know, as a writer, that mental tug to do something.
