Keywords in Meta Descriptions - If you use keywords in Meta Descriptions, they won't help your pages rank higher in search results; but they increase the chances that your meta descriptions will be used as snippets in search results, which Google recommends. If those snippets are written in an engaging and persuasive manner, they may lead to people clicking through to the pages they describe.

This use of keywords, page titles and other META DATA within the section of your HTML adds value to the pages #SEMANTICFOOTPRINT in very sneaky and devious, ways provided these elements match up and complement your inpage contextual information that is viewed on screen by the end user.
ReplyDeleteMany folks do not ensure that these elements have corrolation with each other and match the onscreen stuff that the end user sees. Using exact match sentences as page title will always be helpful in getting google to consider your page title as your search snippet.
At least that is my own past experience.
Once again Bill Slawski and Zara Altair thanx for your helpful thoughts on these delicate matters of how to get Search engines to take your online efforts seriuos.
