How Did Gmail Spam Filter Miss This?

How Did Gmail Spam Filter Miss This?
Dear Zara. ,

My name is Mr. Israel Marthins, I represent the interest of some very

wealthy and influential investors, who prefer to operate in

obscurity, so this deal would be a covert deal.

Due to unstable economy, including inconsistent and unfriendly

policies, my Client decided to stash bulk of his funds($11.7 Million U.S.Dollars),

into Countries with more friendly policies, consistent and stable economy, and

also developing nations where there is security on assets, and

adequate returns on investments. That's the reason I'm contacting you.

I am simply contacting you to see if you have the expertise to receive assets and fund to invest lucratively. I have been given the full authority to negotiate with you on the working terms. If you can demonstrate that you have the capacity to handle this, we can commence partnership.

Please treat confidentially and urgently, and reply with your private email including your direct mobile line/s.

Yours Truly.

Mr. Israel Marthins.

  1. I've noticed sometimes it is so easy to see if an email is spam or a scam. Things like spelling errors or strange gaps between words or sentences or money amounts is what can easily jump out to me. Good job on giving example of what a scam/spam letter looks like. This is important to know, too since it does happen.

  4. You think Gmail is bad. I still have an old AOL account (my first email account) and that is nothing but spam.

The best account I've found were the old apple accounts when they were paid for.

  5. Paul Friend OMG! Even in the old days AOL was spamcentric. :) Google is usually pretty good at filtering spam. Somehow this was made it past the filters.

  6. Char Imbeau Yes, they are fairly easy to recognize. Google's spam filter usually works fairly well. I was surprised to see this in my inbox.

  8. My Apple ID is locked to my AOL account, Zara Altair so I'm stuck with the spam.

@me.com is still the account I get the least spam from. No spam at all until it went free.

  9. Paul Friend My old AppleID was locked to an account I don't use anymore. I set up a new account when I purchased my computer.

  10. I have lots of purchases linked to the account, Zara Altair, so I'm stuck.
In all honesty that's all I use the AOL account for so I only check once in a blue moon and then mainly just send all to bin.

  14. Zara Altair It's unfortunate but comes from social media having the ability to be"scraped" for email accounts from your profile. Gmail is especially bad and/or any other third party source. Even your cell phone are no longer safe. I mean when they came up with the brainy idea of using the cell phone and texting as another source to protect your privacy for login reasons and nearly demanding it I knew we were in trouble.
I refused to do it for the first few years then finally Google won out with it and I gave it up Thats when the proverbial "shit hit the fan" as now I get all kinds of garbage to my cell now because of "scrapers" hitting the profiles, Hackers are at record high and its easy to get this information on how to get it Just Google it it's pretty easy to get. LinkedIn Facebook, Twitter, Instagram Yahoo all of them you can get it pretty easily THANKS GOOGLE Check it out for yourself
