In today's Marketing Next 2017 livestreamed event, Google product manager Bill Kee made a bold claim: "THIS YEAR, WE’RE SOLVING THE #ATTRIBUTION PROBLEM."
He admitted that existing attribution tools don’t cut it. They're difficult to set up, lose track of the customer journey, and aren’t well integrated. So marketers are left to use last-click attribution.
Google Attribution is a new tool to help measure the impact of each touchpoint across multiple channels and devices. It takes advantage of data in AdWords, Google Analytics and DoubleClick, unifying the existing attribution features in these tools. This will help us understand the value of everything from organic search to display ads to direct site visits — so we can waste less and budget smarter.
Kee said Google Attribution is currently in beta; will roll out in coming months to all advertisers at no cost. Enterprise version will be called Google Attribution 360.
