The Integrated Web Presence

Don’t hold yourself in reserve. Establish the fullness of your business identity within the environment of your website by presenting a clear sense of how you and your team, as living, breathing individuals with real commitment and purpose are an integral part of that identity. Allow how you feel about the work you do to show. Emphasizing it in public, online and on your website will have benefits.

Get Personal: Reveal Your Relationship To The Work Your Business Does
Consolidate How You Feel Into Your Company "Why"

Don’t hold yourself in reserve. Establish the fullness of your business identity within the environment of your website by presenting a clear sense of how you and your team, as living, breathing individuals with real commitment and purpose are an integral part of that identity. Allow how you feel about the work you do to show. Emphasizing it in public, online and on your website will have benefits.

Because how you interact and operate within your business matters to your customers in the same way that it matters to you.

As David Amerland wrote in his article "Why Brands Still Get It Wrong“, companies need to "…humanize their approach and convince us of their values so we, as consumers, can make better decisions based upon brand values alignment with our own.”

This is where small business owners have an advantage over corporations. Our humanity is closer at hand. There’s a place for emotional response and action coupled with logic. I've included a couple of invaluable lists of David's to help us all steer into this philosophy.

Meanwhile, I'm quietly celebrating! This is the first new blog article I've written for our company, Fat Eyes Web Development after a long hiatus. It feels great to be writing for our business again.

  3. Yes, Zara Altair. What can be so perplexing is how there's this idea floating "out there" that when a business puts itself into a new venue (like the web as opposed to on the ground), philosophy and behaviors are supposed to shape-shift somehow. That creates an unnatural setup. I prefer to think that we can be congruent. Carry our real-selves with us wherever we go.

  5. Zara Altair thanks for the reference. When I work directly with clients and have the conversation, they understand and get excited about the freedom and the possibilities. So it's not that I can't get the concept across, it's that fallacy exists.
