Language and Connectivity

Language and Connectivity

Which Came First?
Consider that language did not evolve for communication (which helps explain a heck of a lot). The Language of Thought Hypothesis (https://goo.gl/ikAnLa) examines the evolution of language as a representational mental construct. That explains some features of language such as its semanticity, decoupling and discrete infinity (https://goo.gl/WRzsHM) which are not necessary for communication and which may, at times, only raise the level of ambiguity when context is uncertain. More than that however consider the fact that the brain is language-ready instead of our being born capable of speaking and communicating which would then force our brains to adapt and evolve. A language-ready brain is reorganized in terms of connectivity, this allowing the human conceptual system to emerge, triggering the emergence of syntax. I hope you're having a brilliant Thursday! #FoodForThought #thesnipermind
