Google Clips is here

Last October, Google unveiled a new camera called Clips. For $249 a waitlist is now available via the Google Store. The idea is that the camera sits in the background, waiting for the right moment to take a picture.

  1. Are you going to try to get one? It sounds pretty cool, but as it's not something I need, I can't justify it :)

  2. 250 for something that, basically, spies on you?

  3. You can get the same thing from Nest with a surveylance camera for 99 bucks a year last time I looked. It even works at night on any kind of "movement"

  4. Arthur Morehead that sounds like it doesn't have the "smart" features, like only focusing on people who are important to you.

  5. Peggy K Not sure what you mean by "smart features" as you can set these up for 'Face recognition" just like you can with many other cameras. Pet cams, Baby cams, Voice recognition, etc. Todays technology is really amazing these days. Now they have 360 degree "virtual reality cameras" and "halogram" viewing. (Think Star Wars) Its scary LOL

  6. Pretty powerful stuff when you look at the whole package. I could certainly use it for a number of self production work.
