Universal Basic Income (UBI), Governments, and Money Flow
Universal Basic Income (UBI), Governments, and Money Flow

UBI is not a thing yet. But those of us who call for it see it as a direct means of ensuring that the world we are helping take shape is one we can feel proud to have been part of.

Mind, Technology, Money and UBI
At first glance this is an unlikely post to be in this collection. Yet it is apt because much of what we talk about when it comes to Universal Basic Income (UBI) revolves around power, responsibility and the human condition and The Sniper Mind aim is to empower the individual to become a better version of themselves.

Zara Altair there is an inevitability to some version of it.
ReplyDeleteDavid Amerland I am hoping. UBI necessitates a grand revisioning on an economic and cultural scale.
ReplyDeleteZara Altair yes and that is the primary hurdle. Something that's really hard to do because of the change involved, does not get done, irrespective of how logical or beneficial it may be, until we have run out of choices.
ReplyDeleteDavid Amerland Sigh. We may not see it in our lifetime unless there is a great upheaval. I'm still looking for school/education reform to promote thinking. :) In conversation with an activist education administrator in the late 70s, he said change is necessary but it will take at least 50 years. There are more options now but they are not universal. For instance, my granddaughter just won a lottery (!!!!!) to attend a STEAM (Yes, that's art in the curriculum as well as science) charter school. Lottery selection does not equate with universal. Another, sigh.
ReplyDeleteZara Altair I feel exactly what you're saying. At the same time look at what we are doing right here and what we are talking about. We are part of the pressure being exerted.
ReplyDeleteDavid Amerland We are. We are. Every increment is a move forward.
