A Solid Meta Description Approach

A Solid Meta Description Approach
H/T Moz

When meta description length extended toward the end of last year, I started writing 2-part descriptions. The first part at about 160 characters and the second as the extra added.

Now that meta descriptions are showing up shorter again, Pete Meyers has sound advice about writing new descriptions and whether or not to revise old descriptions.

Think of it a bit like an ad, with two separate lines of copy. Let's take this blog post:

Line 1 (145 chars.)
In December, we reported that Google increased search snippets to over 300 characters. Unfortunately, it looks like the rules have changed again.

_Line 2 (122 chars.)
According to our new research (May 2018), the limit is back to 155-160 characters. How should SEOs adapt to these changes?_
