Building Intelligence and Skill Transfers
Building Intelligence and Skill Transfers
David Amerland on building intelligence, correspondence of mind and body training, and the transference of learned skills.
by training the body (and changing it) we also train and change the capabilities of the mind. We can’t learn how to perform complex martial arts moves at home, like the ones shown in The Fighter’s Codex without achieving invisible, corresponding changes in our mental apparatus.
Transfer is the psychological phenomenon of the building of skills and attributes in one context which can then be consciously applied to another one, completely different. Building discipline, perseverance, focus and clear thinking is made way easier when the body is healthy, strong and functionally capable.
