Well, I've been humming this song for most of the day, so I decided to fire up the interwebz and have a look and got the following.
1957 - The Crickets' LP "The 'Chirping' Crickets" was released by Brunswick Records in the USA. It was released in the UK in 1958. It would be re-released in 1962 with the band name changed to Buddy Holly and The Crickets.
Yes, this song was the B-side to "Oh, Boy!" I still like this song the best!
