Information Retrieval, Search, and Functionality

Brain and Search

Information retrieval is, of course, what the brain does every time we dredge our memory in order to make sense of the real world. And as far as information retrieval is concerned the model we have of the brain has gone from a Bayesian inference model to a semantic predictive one. Search, of course, has also followed the same pattern of functionality and development but it's still lagging behind in raw computational power and capability But this should give you an idea of the direction things are headed towards.

    There is a mistake here.
    The areas of Broca and Wernicke are in the left hemisphere and not in the right hemisphere as shown in the picture.
