What does the term SEO mean to you?
I ask this because I have seen quite a bit of bad advice floating around the web recently. There are those that keep on harping that SEO is Dead, and now there are those who are singing the song that LINK BUILDING IS DEAD
Who are these guys trying to fool?
if they are trying to fool themselves I am sure they have succeeded. If they have fooled you , then you had better catch a WAKE UP as this is the biggest load of hog wash ever.
When defining the term SEO I like to say that SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is the collective work of every person who has worked on your marketing, both online and offline to ensure that your intended target market firstly finds your online content when searching the internet, then clicks on your link in the SERP's (Search Engine Results Pages) and completes the process by following at least one of your call to action statements in your online content.
Failure in the last step is the true measure of failure. Your SEO is only successful when those who found your site via a search engine complete the in page call to action or at least visit more than one page in your web site or blog, as each link to other areas of your online exposure is in essence a call to action, saying click me if you want to know more about this.
As far as link building goes, well we all use the social media to get better results for our other online marketing within our blogs and web sites, and if this is not link building then I have stopped breathing. (still here and breathing!!!)
Now for some GOOD ADVICE check out this HOA (https://plus.google.com/u/0/events/cvu22ki7qb0kadoovugugk9pqis) hosted by ISOOSI Research Engine with Ammon Johns , Bill Slawski Erik Stafford discussing one of SEO's biggest problem areas, which is key word research
also take your time and read this great article on how people shop http://www.isoosi.com/blog/how-people-shop.html
These two online resources courtesy of ISOOSI Research Engine will help your online marketing efforts and put a whole lot of different things into perspective.
