This Week In The Google+ Help Community
Everything you’ll want to know about Google Pages but were afraid to ask!

Hey everyone, they’ve let me loose on the latest Google+ Help Weekly Report, where we discuss a trending topic within the Google+ Help Community!

Creating a Google Page.
Google Pages are very easy to set up by going to www.google.com/business but I know some people have questions on the difference between a Brand Page and a Local type Page, and which to choose, so let’s start there.
If you are a business who has people visit to your location, or you service an area e.g. pizza delivery or a plumber you will want a Local type page. If you don’t have or do this, you want to choose a Brand one.

Maybe you have a page already and are wondering if you have the right one?
Well, you can easily tell the difference as:
A Local page has the words ‘Local’ and the red pin, at the top of the side bar
A Local page has a Reviews box, and a Brand page doesn’t
A Local page has the business address displayed
A Local page has a ‘pin’ on the map if you search in Google

Issue with a Local type page?
Some people in the Help community have the right type page, but find they have duplicate pages and want to know what to do. Well, if you have an issue with a ‘Local’ type page you should visit the ‘Google My Business’ forum here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/business

If however you have a duplicate Brand page you want to see vanish?
You need to send a message to the Page and see who gets it.
If nobody gets it, then the only option is to report it as an impersonator (I always think of 007 when it says this, but I digress!). To do this, visit the Page’s Profile and report it there.

Looking to convert from one Google page to another?
Taking this up a Level for all those thirsty for more knowledge about pages, you will sometimes find people want to change a Google Local Page to a Brand Page, or vice versa.
You can now do this, and instructions are here https://support.google.com/business/answer/6010825
And then choose "I've already created a page for my business".

Want to move a YouTube channel?
Then there are times when people would like to move a YouTube channel that is attached to a Google+ profile, and you can actually do this. You will need to contact YouTube support here though: https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/ytgplus and they will be able to assist.
Please note, you won’t be able to ‘merge’ YouTube channels though.

Tip of the Week

I think a handy tip is knowing what to do if you have issues with verify a Google Local page.
Here is a super cool wizard https://support.google.com/business/#contact=1&topic=4539639 and there is also the option to each chat with someone at Google, or to arrange a call.
Someone in the Help community this week managed to get verified in minutes through this route.

There we have it! Thanks for all of your questions and insights this week. Special thanks to everyone who helped respond to these trending topics this week. Make sure to check back again next week when Michael O'Reilly will help to highlight the best questions and answers on the community.
