is one of my favourite open spaces. Swans at your feet. Storks clattering beaks in nests, frogs croaking at ear splitting volume in the forest that is no more. Depending on the season of the year, different birds. The six-kilometre walk goes through shrubs, forest, ponds, flat lands, etc., so different flora and fauna in various sections.

In New Forest http://www.newforestnpa.gov.uk/ the ponies rule. No touching, shooing, or bothering in any way. If one stops on the road, all vehicles wait...even if it decides to take a nap! 

Yosemite (rock on all you Mac owners), Yellowstone complete with shaggy buffalo, moose and the scent of sulphur.
