Invisible Search

Invisible Search
The shift to mobile brings important changes for websites.
Here’s what it means in practical terms:

_Websites that have poor organizational structures will suffer
Websites that are information-poor in terms of products and services will suffer
Websites that fail to employ structured data where they can will suffer._

Search Behavior

The way we use search is changing because we are changing with it.

Structure isn't solely about schema, even though it is important, or Pre-millennium menu systems.

It is also vital that your pages are conceptually sound and perhaps even more importantly provide concrete solutions at the point of interest. The best sites follow a silo based information modelling technique that allows your visitors to dig deeper where appropriate.

Clarity is vital and distractions need to be minimal as the old Adsense model of click bait sites are being tightly monitored.

  3. Yes it is powerful information even to this day David Amerland ';) and what of the focus and clarity?

Yet, it's not really about when it happened per se, it's more about helping others by expanding the semantic relevance who've never heard these things, and reinforcing its veracity.

i found this meme very useful in these cases ...

  4. Peter Hatherley absolutely, though silo-based approaches in information modelling are not structured-data friendly (indeed, they're the exact opposite). I suspect that's not quite what you meant in your comment. Judging by the follow-up sentence, you're suggesting a theme integrated approach that uses thematic linking to create a more information-rich environment. And, indeed such pages and the sites that employ the approach are more valuable from a search point of view and provide more opportunities to their visitors to be satisfied with their visit.

Silos can be seen in many different lights. Mine are within a page (aka as internal linking) and appear to be extremely search friendly

So you're right my silo and your silo are clearly two different things!

Being the person who helped me to introduce CISE here on G+, you obviously know my algorithms well enough to know that they produce theme-based master sets that can be custom-built for this purpose, and for any niche market.

Even so, we've taken this quite a lot further now with a brand-new product called Conceptual Author, (which we've beta tested for over 18 months commercially), that ranks how well a writer performs, from a semantic viewpoint, and how that on-page context might reflect in the search results.

Even so, I must admit that even though you're unaware of this new product, that I'm a little bemused to hear you talking about my favourite subject in the third party.';)
